If you have a restaurant, potential customers can
find your restaurant by a particular type of dish
name, type of food, style of cooking, price, and
literally tons of other criteria! A website can show full
color photos of your entrees, a full menu with prices,
directions, testimonials of satisfied customers, and
the list can go on and on. Can you do this with a
yellow page ad? Nope!

Websites can be found, based on any keyword,
phrase, category, service, etc. Search Engines allow
potential customers to find your website.
These days, more people have access to the
Internet. Your website can be seen within seconds,
by anyone with an Internet connection. Now, with the
lowered rates of high-speed Internet access (DSL,
cable modem, T1s, T3s, satellite, ISDN, etc.) it
seems that everyone is online, whether at home, or
at work in their offices and cubicles. By just typing a
few key words, a person could be accessing your
own website, with all of your company information,
pictures, prices, sales pitch... everything you want
them to know about you.
A website is actually a program. It can be configured
to do just about anything. It can be modified to allow
customers to view your inventory, view your menu,
order online while automatically deducting funds
from their credit card (without any human interaction
- make money while you sleep), keep and manage
any database, view your secure areas via a
webcam, and the list goes on and on!
A website design normally costs a minimum of
$1000 or more. For a limited time,Mid-Michigan PC Medics is offering a
5-page website design for $750. This gives you an
attractive website design, with your logo, name,
address, phone, fax, your mission statement, your
full menu with prices, a small inventory, full color
pictures of some or all of your products, well, you
get the idea. It just all has to fit on 5 pages.
After your one-time website design cost, there is a
monthly maintenance and hosting fee. This is
usually around $25 per month. Your website will
need to reside somewhere on the Internet, so that
potential customers can find you. A host does that
for you. And included in the monthly fee, is the ability
for you to make minor changes to your site. This
could include updates to products or services, price
changes, area code changes, etc., any type of minor
changes. Also included are 10 email accounts
(yourname@yourdomain.com)
Other than the above-mentioned charges, there is
just a minimal setup fee of $69 (which includes the
purchase of your domain name for one year
(www.yourdomain.com) and initially setting up your
website on our server. After one year, your annual
renewal is just $50 per year. Other than that, to host
your website on our server is just $25 per month.
This includes us making a half hour of changes
each month. This could include price changes, new
design, inventory, phone number changes, etc.
Or, if you already have a hosting service, we will only
charge you the $750 to design your website. We will
give you a CD of your website and you can take it to
any hosting service of your choice. |

Why should a potential customer choose your
restaurant over another restaurant just by looking at
the name of your restaurant, or the location? Is it
fair to say that one might choose a restaurant by
word of mouth, rather than a yellow page ad? You
must give them a reason to choose yours!
In order to have your yellow page ad seen in every
category, you would have to purchase an ad in
each of those sections. This could get extremely
expensive! This could result in literally thousands
of $ per month to do this, and you would still have
to rely on potential customers to guess which
categories you placed your ads in, instead of a
program, like a Search Engine, to find your ads
automatically.
In these days of high-tech, people don’t have time
to look for a phone book. It seems to be easier just
to call Information to find what they are looking for.
The problem with this, is that a potential customer
would have to know the exact name of the company
that they wish to call. With a website, this isn’t the
case, they only need to know the kind of business,
or some keywords that would be related to the type
of business that they are looking for. In a large
business, where there are hundreds of phone
lines, phone books can be scarce, a person finds
him or herself trying to find information by other
means, usually the Internet. This is VERY common
with large companies.
A yellow page ad is basically a TINY flyer. It goes
out to potential customers, whom you hope hold on
to it during the year, and hoping that they find you,
without really even an intelligent way of looking for
your type of business.
A yellow page ad design can cost anywhere from
$50 to $500. However, you are limited to the space,
so you won’t get a fraction of what you can get on a
5-page website. For most yellow page ads, you will
probably only be able to squeeze out your name,
address, phone, and maybe some services into it.
A yellow page ad is paid on a monthly basis. It
usually costs between $300-$1000 per month to
keep the same ad in the yellow pages, in the same
book that only gets printed once a year. What if your
area code changes? What if the price of gas goes
up, forcing the prices of almost everything to go up?
If you list any prices in your yellow page ad, you you
can’t make any changes for a year. That could be
disastrous! Or maybe because of that, you don’t
ever list any prices in the yellow pages. How does
the shopping customer compare prices? Do they
drive to each business, or call every business?

with a yellow pages ad, unless you count up the
